Onions Red Spanish

Description

Spanish onions (also known as red onions) have a lighter flavour than brown onions. They are perfect for salads and fresh tomato dishes. Like all onions, they have a good source of vitamin C, but that reduces when you cut them. Peel onions under water, using a sharp vegetable knife, to avoid tears from the odour. Alternatively, peel all but the root end of the onion, leaving this until last, since the cut root releases the irritating odour. Store in a cool, dark, well ventilated place.
