Lettuce Butter

Butter and Oak lettuce are similar. We pick the best for you depending on the season and growing conditions. Whichever is freshest and best quality is what you will get. Butter Lettuce (or more correctly Butterhead Lettuce) have loose hearts and soft texture, a delicate buttery flavour and velvety, succulent leaves. Oak Lettuce leaves are branched and frilled at the edges, they look like a twisted oak leaf. Colour varies from deep green, red to brown depending on the season. They have a milder taste than coral lettuce. Remove the damaged/course outer leaves before storing. Place in the crisper or in a plastic bag with a paper towel, in the fridge for up to 5 days.
