Description

A yellow skinned sweet apple. It is often used as a sweeter alternative to the Granny Smith in salads, apple sauce, and apple butter. Be sure to handle it carefully - they do bruise a little easier than other varieties. Trivia - It is not genetically related to the Red Delicious. The Golden Delicious is named after and cultivated (by chance) at the farm of Thomas Grimes in Pittsburgh.
